Tutoring

Academic Success Center has free tutoring available for Georgia Southern students virtually and in-person. While tutoring is provided for a variety of courses, tutoring is not available in every subject area. The Academic Success Center offers tutoring in core Math, Science, Humanities, and more. To assist in navigating where to find subject-specific help, please refer to the details provided in the links, below. Appointments are required through EAB Navigate.

Additional Tutoring Services

The Engineering Learning Center (ELC) serves as a place where students can get free tutoring from their peers for several challenging engineering courses. It is also a place to study, meet other engineering students, meet faculty, meet for study groups and build long lasting friendships. Visit our website here.

The Department of Enterprise Systems and Analytics is offering free virtual tutoring for CISM students. Sessions will be offered as follows: Mondays- CISM 2530 & 3131, Wednesdays- CISM 3135, 3333 and 4237. Fridays BUSA 3131 and 3132. All sessions will be from 9:00am -2:00 pm. The Geology and Geography Department has free tutoring for students taking introductory geology courses: GEOL 1121 lecture and lab & GEOL 1340 lecture and lab. These appointments will be hosted virtually through Zoom. Please contact the department for more information by calling 912-478-5361.

The Foreign Languages Department has free tutoring available in Gamble Hall on the Armstrong campus at the Language Resource Center and in IAB 2034. Virtual tutoring is available through Google Meet. Contact the department directly for more information.

OSCM 3430 tutoring available through Zoom by emailing the tutor at ka10736@georgiasouthern.edu . Please also cc: the department on your email requests (sarahrene@georgiasouthern.edu). Tutoring sessions will be available during the following days and times: Monday: 1 pm – 5 pm Wednesday: 9 am – 12 pm Thursday: 2 pm – 5 pm

The School of Accountancy offers free tutoring for Georgia Southern students in the following courses: ACCT 2101, 2102, 3131, and 3132. Please note that all tutoring will be through Zoom meetings. The Science & Mathematics Academic Resource & Tutorial (SMART) Center offers free tutoring to the Armstrong campus by student tutors in Anatomy and Physiology, Biology, General and Organic Chemistry, Physics, Statistics, and Mathematics. Appointments for in-person or virtual tutoring should be made through the EAB Navigate system. More details can be found at our website.

Student-Athlete Services has free tutoring available for Georgia Southern student-athletes through virtual platforms in Fall 2020. A limited number of in-person appointments are also available. Social distancing and masks will be required during these sessions. While tutoring is provided for a variety of courses, tutoring is not available in every subject area. Student-Athlete Servieces offers tutoring in core Math, Science, Humanities, and select Psychology and Sociology courses. To request an appointment, please reach out to your Athletic Academic Advisor

Virtual tutoring will be hosted via Google Meet. Prior to attending a tutoring session, participants will be provided with a link to join each tutoring session from the TRiO Armstrong staff.

The University Writing Center has free tutoring available for Georgia Southern students though our online platform. Visit our webpage here for details. A limited number of in-person tutoring sessions are also available on a drop-in, as-available basis only. Social distancing and masks will be required during these sessions. The Writing Center works with writing projects from all courses at all levels as well as resumes, application essays, posters, and other academic genres.
