“Bridging the Gaps with Books” Grant
The Academic Success Center (ASC) was awarded an Inclusive Excellence Action Plan Seed Grant in Spring 2022. This grant supported our efforts in bridging needs-based gaps for students actively utilizing ASC services.
Nicole Wicker, Academic Success Coach for the ASC and Principal Grant Writer, wrote about the gaps that students face in their academic journey when struggling to afford the cost of course textbooks. The grant allowed the ASC to support students in need of books and supplies such as calculators for their courses.
Wicker shares, “It was wonderful to be able to make the classroom experience more equitable for the students involved.”
