Compliance Officer

What is it?

A Compliance Officer is an employee of a company who helps to identify risks, and ensures the company is in compliance with particular rules and regulations. The average salary of a compliance officer is about 60 to 70 thousand dollars a year.

Is there a degree program?

Georgia Southern does not have a Compliance Officer degree program (no one does!), however many people pursuing this career get a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Criminal Justice, or Business. 

Can I be certified?

Yes! There are a variety of certifications you can get to be a Compliance Officer, but many of these will depend on the organization you work for.
