Office of Career and Professional Development Announces Career Showcase Week

Georgia Southern’s innovative Office of Career and Professional Development (OCPD) is launching its first ever Career Showcase Week beginning Monday, Feb. 19.

This exciting new format combines the two largest traditional career fairs (STEM Career Fair and Eagle Expo Career Fair) as well as supporting networking events into one comprehensive week of on-campus recruitment opportunities. The decision to switch to this format was made in response to the overwhelmingly positive feedback from employers and students following the combined STEM+Eagle Expo Events last fall.

For one week each semester Georgia Southern will host hundreds of employers on the Statesboro campus to meet with students of all degree programs to discuss internships and full time career opportunities. Employers will participate in traditional career fairs events and networking receptions, host information sessions, participate in classroom events, and conduct on-campus interviews. During the same week this February the Parker College of Business is partnering with the OCPD to host their inaugural Parker Career Connection during Career Showcase Week. This event replaces the successful Professional Development Day and is developed for all Parker College of Business students.

Georgia Southern faculty are encouraged to promote Career Showcase Week with students. The OCPD has provided a marketing toolkit that includes sample news feed items, class assignments, and basic marketing materials. Contact the OCPD team by emailing ocpd@georgiasouthern.edu.
