Meet the Project BESST Staff

Ruby Ashley, Curator of Education, Georgia Southern University Museum, is certified in early childhood and middle grades with teaching experience in elementary and middle grades. She has a Masters in Curriculum and Reading from Georgia Southern University. She coordinates all education programs for the museum including on-site tours and visitation and the school outreach programs Project SENSE (Science Education Network for the Southeast) and Project BESST (Be Engaged in Social Studies Teaching). She currently manages the Education Graduate Assistant, student employees responsible for delivering programs, the summer workshops and year-round operations of the outreach programs including coordination of the School Outreach Advisory Board. She has served on the national board of the Triangle Coalition for Science and Technology Education. She has been with the Museum since July 1994.

George Arrington, Museum Outreach Delivery Driver. He delivers the kits to teachers at their school and, on a two-week rotation, picks them up from the teacher. The daily delivery area covers over 3,000 miles and 29 school systems. This keeps him on the road 4 days a week.
