Duckworth Selected as Legislative Correspondent
Georgia Southern graduate, Brian Duckworth, accepted the position in the United States House of Representatives as Legislative Correspondent for Representative Hank Johnson. His legislative portfolio includes education, arts, budget, agriculture, small business, and oversight and government reform.

Education Opportunity Program Director visits Washington
Georgia Southern’s Education Opportunity Programs director, Joyya Smith (pictured left), met with former Eagles in D.C. intern, Lindsey Maxwell (pictured right) while visiting Washington D.C. Maxwell, now staff assistant in Senator David Perdue’s office, discussed with Smith the benefits of federally funded TRIO and McNair programs.
Former Intern Porter Receives Staff Assistant Position
Georgia Southern alumnae, Amber Porter, receives Staff Assistant position in U.S. Representative Lynn Westmoreland’s office. Porter was an Eagles in D.C. intern participant in Congressman Westmoreland’s office in Spring 2013.
