Engineering in Germany

SPEND YOUR SUMMER EXPERIENCING ENGINEERING IN GERMANY!

This is a hybrid program that will be offered in summer semester B term on the Georgia Southern Campus and Germany, providing a hands-on applied laboratory component, which takes advantage of our first-class energy science laboratory. The second half of the summer semester will be an international study abroad immersion with relevant academic, cultural and corporate partners in Germany. Germany has extremely technologically advanced automotive and renewable energy industries.

Through guided engagements, Georgia Southern students will have the opportunity to have lectures about engineering concepts of energy, technology and the environmental management in the context of German industrial, technological, academic, cultural and professional settings.

Course Options:
Students have the opportunity to earn and must be enrolled in 3 credit hours with their home institution in the following course

ENGR 2137S – Introduction to Renewable Energy (3)

  • Equivalent to SACS Elective
  • Pre-requisite: CHEM 1130

Eligibility:
Students should possess at least a 2.5 institutional GPA at the time of application, with no active disciplinary record.  All students must be fully admitted to the institution, and at least 18 years of age by the program departure date.

Dates of Program:
July 6 – July 19, 2020 (Summer Term B)

  • Class begins on Statesboro campus on June 22 prior to travel

Program Cost:
$2,655
Includes: All regional and local transportation; lodging for the duration of the program; some meals;  classroom access; tour and excursion fees; and a medical travel insurance plan.

Additional Costs: Airfare, Georgia Southern tuition & fees for 3 credit hours of course enrollment; books and supplies; additional meals beyond those included; incidental and personal expenses.

Nature and Purpose of the Program:
This program will provide participating students the ability to explore several indigenous communities to take workshops from master artisans in textile, painting, and ceramics. Students will also visit world class museums and explore vibrant, contemporary galleries in Buenos Aires.

Refund information:
Once accepted to the program, all deposits and program payments are non-refundable.
