Emergency Move to Remote Instruction

During certain situations, faculty may be asked to move their course to online (remote) instruction. A course moved online in response to crises or diasters has a different learning experience from a course designed for online instruction. Moving instruction online can enable the flexibility of teaching and learning anywhere at any time. Hodges et al. (2020) described emergency remote teaching as an attempt not “to re-create a robust educational ecosystem but rather to provide temporary access to instruction and instructional supports in a manner that is quick to set up and is reliably available during an emergency or crisis.”

In the event of an emergency or severe weather affecting University operations or safety, announcements will be posted to the University Alert Center.
