Teaching international students was sparked while she was a student volunteer at UNCC. This later lead to studying in France, and working in Japan as an International Relations Coordinator. Upon her return to the United States, she became a mother to twin sons and devoted her time as a stay at home mother. Prior to coming to Georgia Southern, she established a local ESL program for new immigrants living in the Statesboro area.
