Georgia Southern supports a number of additional teaching technologies on campus. While the CTE may not offer regular trainings on the technologies listed below, we have curated support resources for your convenience. Should you need additional assistance, we are available to consult one-on-one. Be sure to specify in your consultation request the technology tool(s) with which you would like assistance.


Chalk & Wire

Chalk and Wire is an online resource used by the College of Education for assessment data collection and reporting, edTPA organization and support, e-portfolios, and surveys/forms.

Clickers allow you to gather instantaneous feedback from students. They can be used to assess pre- and post-lesson knowledge, provide a springboard for class discussion, and collect attendance information.

Films On Demand

Films-On-Demand is a web-based digital video delivery platform of 7,000 video titles in Humanities & Social Sciences, Business & Economics, Health, and Science. The new collection includes 260 United Newsreels titles. Captions and transcripts are usually included, making these videos compliant with ADA requirements.

Kaltura is an online video platform that allows users to record, upload, and make a video available directly inside Folio.

Lightboards help faculty transition from using chalkboards in face-to-face classrooms to publishing the same lectures online using digital video.

Perusall, a social annotation platform, combines the functionality of a discussion board with readings that students can highlight and comment on collaboratively. Perusall integrates fully with Folio.

WebEx, a web conferencing solution by Cisco, is available for faculty use via Folio online rooms. This collaboration tool gives faculty a convenient way to meet “live” with students, conduct online office hours, and even feature guest speakers.

GS faculty and staff have YouTube accounts attached to their GS emails. You can access your YouTube account after logging into your Georgia Southern email account through the apps menu.
