Center for Teaching Excellence
Georgia Southern University

Graduate Learning Community

Description

The Graduate Student Teaching Foundations program is an opportunity for graduate students interested in teaching to engage with peers, faculty, and university staff to identify, evaluate, and employ concepts and practices that will enhance  their teaching in higher education and other professional settings. An important aspect of the certificate program is regular participation in a Graduate Student Learning Community. The learning community will meet regularly for informal meetings where participants interact socially, discuss observations and questions on teaching, and participate in short workshops on teaching topics selected by community members.  The GLCs and the associated certificate program are open to all Georgia Southern graduate students regardless of their position as a Teaching Assistant.
