Postponed to Thursday, Oct. 19 Due to Weather

Due to expected inclement weather this Thursday, the Celebrate: Together event has been postponed to the following Thursday, Oct. 19.

The spirit-filled events will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Residential Plaza on the Armstrong Campus in Savannah.

Information about volunteering and booth set-up for the new date will be released soon.

Join Georgia Southern University for Celebrate Together on the Armstrong Campus in Savannah on Oct. 19 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Residential Plaza!

The event features a festival of departmental and student organizations, as well fun extras that include a dunk tank, foam pit, rock wall, archery tag and live DJ, to bring together students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the community at large.

Free hot dogs and drinks will be available for all guests and free t-shirts will be available for students, alumni and event volunteers (while supplies last). 

We encourage departments, offices, & registered student organizations to host a booth at Celebrate Together! These booths should be a lot of fun and engaging for the students that are in attendance.

Registration for booths will continue until Tuesday, September 12.

Bring your cash and support the Armstrong Commitment Fund, where all dunk tank proceeds will go towards covering the difference in costs for a student’s Financial Aid and how much they owe. You can make your gift here!

Over 70 booths featuring student interest groups, academic departments, student services and vendors including…

  • Free T-shirts for students, alumni & event volunteers (while supplies last)
  • Free hot dogs and soft drinks (between 11 am-1 pm, while supplies last)
  • Free swag and snacks
  • Live DJ
  • Rock climbing wall
  • Dunk tank (participants include University leaders, including President Marrero!)
  • Archery tag
  • Bookstore sale
  • Wildlife Center animals
  • Community vendors

Booth Competition 

You may sign up for the booth competition at the Festival Information tent at the Celebrate Central area (located in front of the Compass Point 7000 building) during check-in. Please sign up by 11 AM. Additional details will be communicated at that time.

Cost?

Admission is free! 

Please note that some groups will fundraise, and there will be a section with local vendors selling their wares and produce. We suggest bringing a few dollars if you want to donate to your favorite group, buy a few throws at the dunk tank or shop for some cool stuff.

T-Shirts

Students and Alumni can pick up their free shirts (while supplies last) after they check-in to the festival at Celebrate Central located in front of the Compass Point 7000 building.

Volunteers will receive information via email on when and where to pick up their shirts.

For the first time ever, limited edition limited quantity Celebrate: Together t-shirts are available for purchase at the University Store located in the Student Union. 

What to bring?

  • Your Eagle ID
  • Maybe a few dollars for the fundraisers and vendors (but you can still do plenty on a $0 budget!)
  • Lots of love for the Georgia Southern University Armstrong Campus!
