GATA Self-Defense for Women

Learn to use your body, voice and wits to handle confrontation, command your space, and get yourself to safety!

GATA Self-Defense for Women is designed to build your confidence and provide the skills you need to defend yourself during an assault. Focusing on self- and situational awareness, you’ll gain knowledge on body language, other non-verbal warning signs, and physical techniques—including when, where and how to use them.

Stan York has been in law enforcement for over 30 years, from Tifton to Statesboro where he retired in 2010 as chief of police. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia and the Georgia Law Enforcement Command College at Columbus State University. He also served as the president of the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police from 2011-2012. His experience includes crisis and emergency management, tactics and counterterrorism. York currently operates his own LLC, York Investigative Services.
