This course is offered in partnership with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). SHRM’s Competency Model covers eight behavioral and leadership competencies, including leadership & navigation, ethical practice, business acumen, relationship management, consultation, critical evaluation, global and cultural effectiveness, communication and one technical competency on HR expertise (HR knowledge), of which recruitment and selection, compensation, talent management, training and development, employee relations and engagement and compliance are covered. This 36-hour review course provides a broad overview of HR management issues and core body of knowledge.

Who is this course for?

Our certification preparation course is designed for human resource individuals seeking SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP certification. Certification is a great choice for HR professionals who want to:

For those not seeking certification, the SHRM Learning System course provides a comprehensive and accelerated option for professional development. Participants gain a generalist viewpoint, refresh key ideas and concepts, strengthen their understanding of core HR competencies and increase productivity in the workplace.

Bill Dugle, MBA, SHRM-SCP

Bill Dugle’s entire career was in the field of human resources at two medium-sized chemical companies. He worked a total of 15 years for the Olin Corporation in the firm’s Chemicals Group, which includes five different sites. It was here that he rose to become the head of human resources for a business with 6,500 employees. During the 18 years that followed, he worked for the Engelhard Corporation (acquired several years ago by BASF) as the head of a division human resource function. For the last 12 years there, he served as the company’s vice president of human resources with worldwide responsibility.

He has directed (and in most cases performed) the work being studied in the SHRM Learning System course and the SHRM Essentials of HR Management short course, working with people of all organizational levels and in geographic regions in the U.S. as well as Europe. As a corporate officer of Engelhard, he was a full participant in all strategic and investment decisions as well as their implementation.

Mr. Dugle earned a bachelor’s degree in economics, magna cum laude, from the Wharton School of Finance and Commerce at the University of Pennsylvania. He returned at age 50 with the sponsorship of his employer and earned an MBA from Wharton’s Executive program. He is now retired, except for some part-time consulting.

Rushe Hudzinski, MBA, SHRM-SCP, GPHR

Rushe Hudzinski is the chief human resource officer for the New South Financial Group where she oversees company personnel matters and prepares all human resource strategy options for clients and business partners. Previously, she was the director of human resources for the Effingham County board of commissioners for 10 years as well as a training and development/staffing and faculty coordinator for the Savannah College of Art and Design for five years. She also served as the district recruiting specialist for Eddie Bauer—South East Region. She also held several management and committee capacities in the apparel, home and outlet divisions.

She is a graduate of Elmira College where she earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in international business and marketing. She completed her MBA at Syracuse University and participated in the international graduate programs in England and Italy.

Formerly president of SHRM Savannah, she is director elect for SHRM Georgia, and serves on other community boards and committees. She has earned the Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR) certification and SHRM Senior Certified Professional Certification (SHRM-SCP).

Fee Includes:

SHRM Learning System Materials (6 print modules and access to online course materials), course completion certificate, and 36 hours of class instruction.

Participants who register for this course after February 11 will only have access to the online version of the class materials.

* Note to SHRM members: Early registrants who are current members of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) may apply the discounted SHRM member fee, so long as they provide their national member ID number or confirmation from their chapter’s membership chair.

SHRM Discount Restrictions

Only current paid members of national SHRM or a local SHRM chapter can register at the discount price. Please provide your name exactly as it is listed on your SHRM membership card, along with your member ID number and expiration date so we can confirm that you are current. If you belong to a local SHRM chapter, we require a confirmation from your Board leadership that you are a current paid member at the time of registration.
