Mental Health First Aid for Veterans

Location: Georgia Southern University | Armstrong Center, Savannah, GA

For some members of the military, the battle doesn’t end when they leave the battlefield. Mental Health First Aid for Veterans teaches people how to notice and respond to signs of mental health and addiction challenges with a specific focus on the cultural factors related to military life. Light breakfast and lunch will be served during the workshop.

Robyn Ellison

Robyn Ellison has 24 years of experience working in mental health. She is also a certified teacher in emotional and behavioral disorders and elementary education, with a master’s degree from Furman University and an undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina.

Ellison serves on the South Carolina Bar Association’s board for Lawyers Helping Lawyers as well as Upstate Warrior Solution’s Operation Deep Dive, a veterans suicide study.
