Location: Nessmith-Lane Conference Center  |  Statesboro, GA


Dream, design, build and program a LEGO robot! During this high-voltage week tailored especially for our mini-engineers, you will build a robot and learn basic programming skills. The week will culminate with a maze challenge you will program your robot to complete. Come and make your robot a reality through imagination and skill with LEGOs in this exciting half-day camp.


Learning Objectives:

  • Learn to identify the different types of legos
  • Design and build a lego robot
  • Learn basic programming skills
  • Build a robot to complete a maze challenge

Dr. Shelli L. Casler-Failing

Shelli Casler-Failing, Ph.D. is an assistant professor of middle grades and secondary mathematics education in the Department of Teaching and Learning. She has taught in both P-12 and higher education settings with a combined nine years of classroom experience. She completed a bachelor’s in mathematics, master’s in secondary education (concentration mathematics) and a doctorate in curriculum and instruction in science and mathematics education all from the University of Albany in New York. Casler-Failing focuses much of her research in the areas of mathematics education, integration of LEGO robotics technology in math curriculum, and integrated literacy and mathematics curricula.
