One Day Registration Fee: $25

Learn to train your dog using positive reinforcement techniques. Various commands (sit, down, come, walk nicely on a leash) are taught and numerous other dog topics are covered, such as house training, chewing and problem behaviors will be discussed. This course is enjoyable for both the pet owners and the dogs!

Additional information: The class will ready dogs to take the Canine Good Citizen test (and it may be offered if the desire exists) a prerequisite for many Therapy Dog certifications.

Note: For puppies less than 12 months old, there will be the availability of the AKC’ S STAR Puppy Certification after the six-week course.


  1. Dogs must be 14 weeks old or older.
  2. Dogs need a leash and a collar with a buckle.
  3. Dog’s owner must bring vaccination records to the first night of class.
  4. All dogs 6 months or older must have had a rabies shot.
  5. Please arrive early on the first night of class for check-in.
  6. A waiver of liability must be filled out by all participants.

Leslie Sprando
Leslie Sprando, dog obedience instructor since 1983, has taught people how to train their dogs for decades. She currently shows her dogs in conformation, obedience, coursing, agility, tracking and barn hunt, and dog sports which will be explained during class.  Weekly Leslie and her two therapy dogs can be found around town doing therapy work!
