Dr. Diane Badakhsh joined the Georgia Southern University Division of Continuing Education as the director in July of 2019. As the director, she oversees all units of the Division including online and face-to-face professional development and personal enrichment programs, as well as conference services, customized training and youth programs. She comes to Georgia Southern with almost 20 years of experience in higher education, with 12 years specifically in continuing education at both the university and community college level.
Previously, Dr. Badakhsh served as the director of continuing and professional education at the University of North Carolina Wilmington and the director of corporate and continuing education at Cape Fear Community College, the fifth largest community college in North Carolina. Her areas of expertise include developing, implementing and evaluating workforce development programs for business and industry, as well as career development programs for individuals. She has also worked as a mental health counselor and employee assistance professional.
