Payment Information

The Division of Continuing Education at Georgia Southern University is committed to providing participants with a range of options for paying their educational, rental, and catering expenses. For many years the Division of Continuing Education has accepted credit and debit card payments for registration, facility rental, and catering fees in addition to paying the processing charges imposed by the credit card companies on each of those transactions. As the use of these cards has increased, these charges have become prohibitively expensive for the division. As a service to our participants and clients, we will continue to accept credit and debit cards for the payment of registration, rental, and catering fees. However, we can no longer afford to absorb the additional costs associated with these transactions.

As of November 1, 2016, a convenience fee will be added to all credit and debit card payments to assist in minimizing costs. Please note that the convenience fee is subject to change.

This fee will include the following:

  • A 2.75% convenience fee will be added to all credit and debit card payments to offset the processing fee the Division must pay to the credit card processor
  • Credit and debit card payments will continue to be accepted online, over the phone, by mail, fax, or in person
  • The convenience fee is non-refundable, even if the payment is refunded

The Division of Continuing Education will provide the following payment alternatives that will not incur a convenience fee:

  • Paper Check & Money Orders: Accepted by mail or in person
  • Cash: Accepted in person only, DO NOT mail cash

Failure to pay any sums when due will result in the submission of the account balance to a collection agency and all fees and costs of collection, including attorney’s fees, will be paid by the customer.

Returned Check Fees

Checks returned for any reason will be assessed a service fee of $30.00, or 5% of the face value of the check, whichever is greater.
