Overview of OCPD Events

Eagle Expo

Eagle Expo is one of the largest career fairs on campus hosted each semester and typically features approximately 100 employers from a wide variety of industries.  There is something for everyone at this fair—participating employers seek students from all colleges and majors.  Eagle Expo is traditionally held in late September and late February on the Statesboro Campus.

Education Career Fair

This fair features over 50 school districts from all across Georgia and neighboring states. This is a great place to start for students interested in teaching or counseling in a particular district or county. The Education Career Fair is held in March and November and will be hosted virtually through Handshake.

Graduate School Fair

The Graduate School Fair is the best place to speak with graduate school admissions representatives in one place!  Held annually each fall semester to accommodate application deadlines, this fair brings together representatives from universities throughout Georgia and the surrounding region. Currently, the Graduate School Fair is held virtually through Handshake.

STEM Career Fair & Events

The STEM Fair is a career fair featuring employers in the STEM fields searching for candidates to fill co-op, internship and full-time positions.  Students in the College of Engineering and Computing (CEC) and College of Science and Math (COSM) won’t want to miss this fair. The STEM Career Fair is held in early September and early February.

Focusing on the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) industries, these events are usually held near the beginning of each semester, in early September and early February.  This spring, STEM Career Events will bring employers together for a panel discussion and information sessions, designed to help students understand the value of co-op and internship experience and how to best prepare themselves to become top candidates. There may be limited opportunities for in-person STEM Events. Please contact our office at employerrelations@georgiasouthern.edu for more information.

Information Sessions & Tables

Throughout the semester, recruiters come on campus to meet students and share information about their companies.  Information sessions are presentations given by recruiters to groups of students.  Some companies choose to set up information tables throughout the day in high-traffic areas, like the Union or in a specific college’s lobby area.  Visiting there is a great way for employers to connect with students majoring in specific areas of interest.
