Field Trips

Field Trip Registration for the 2023-2024 school year will open September 1st

ALL Field Trips are BOOKED for the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year.

Please note that the Ecology Pavilion will be closed for renovation during the 2023-2024 school year.
The Campground will be available for lunch.

The Center for Wildlife Education offers a variety of programs for all age groups and class sizes. If you are unable to secure a date to visit the Center, we also offer the option of having an outreach program presented at your school or event.


All field trip programs are by reservation only and must be made at least a week in advance. Wear comfortable shoes and appropriate clothing for an exciting and educational outdoor experience. Indoor accommodations MAY be available in the event of inclement weather during your field trip. Restrooms, water fountains, and vending machines are available on site. Picnics & sack lunches are welcome.  Use of the outdoor Campground for your lunch is available at no extra charge but must be reserved when you register.  If you would like to have your lunch catered by Georgia Southern Catering please contact them directly at 912-478-8681.

IMPORTANT:
Before registering please check the field trip calendar below for available dates.  Unavailable dates are indicated by the word “busy”.

If registering for multiple days, separate forms must be filled out for each trip. 

Monday’s are reserved for Fledglings & Tadpoles only.


The Wildlife Connection- Past, Present & Future is strictly for adults and is presented by Steve Hein, the Wildlife Center’s founder and Director. For more in depth information please click on the links below.

The Fledglings field trip is a one hour program designed specifically for Pre-K (ages 4-5) and is offered on Mondays only.

The Wild about Wildlife is also a one-hour program designed for kindergarteners to college students and can also be tailored for adult groups/organizations.

The Native Habitat & Wildlife field trip is the most popular option among teachers for their students.  It is a two and a half hour program with multiple rotations for kindergarteners to high school students.

The Wetland Wildlife & Habitats and Tadpoles (Pre-K) programs are similar to the Native Habitats & Wildlife and Fledglings field trips in set-up but have a wetland theme.
