Barbara Bitter Scholarship

This scholarship has been established in honor of Ms. Barbara W. Bitter, former head of the Learning Support Department at Georgia Southern University.

Description: Students selected as “Barbara W. Bitter Scholars” will receive a stipend of $500.  The non-renewable stipend will be disbursed during spring semester.

·      Applicant must demonstrate good character, high motivation and demonstrate strong academic potential for achieving a college degree.  Evaluation forms from all current professors, except KINS, are required.

·      Preference will be given to students who meet one or more of the following criteria:

o   Single parent

o   Son/daughter of divorced or deceased parent(s)

o   Financial need

o   Enrolled part-time (fewer than 12 hours)

Finalists will meet with the selection committee for an interview

Applications and professor evaluation forms may be downloaded from link below or picked up from the Academic Success Center in Room 2023 of Cone Hall.

Completed applications with attached typed essay and professor evaluation forms must be received by March 9, 2012.  Students are responsible for reminding professors to return the forms on time.
