What is the Academic Success Center (ASC)?

The ASC is dedicated to promoting academic success among all students by providing services to aid students in developing the skills, strategies, and attitudes essential to the attainment of academic, career, and life goals.

 

Where is the ASC located?

The ASC is located on the second floor of Cone Hall (Cone Hall is on the pedestrium across from the Hollis & Rosenwald Buildings).

Can the ASC recommend private tutors?

The Academic Success Center has a list of students wishing to be private tutors who have been certified through our Tutor Certification Program.  Please call Mr. Mike Czech at 478-0321 for a list of these private tutors.

 

How can I schedule a Guest Presentation for a class?

Just contact the ASC and let us know the date, time, location, number of students, and preferred topic.  We will do our best to accommodate your needs. 

 

What Testing Services are provided at the ASC?

The Testing Office which is located in the ASC administers the Legislative Exemption Exams, administers CLEP exams, and administers independent study exams/distance learning exams.  The Testing Office also coordinates national exams for the ACT, SAT, LSAT, PCAT, EIT, CHES, ACE, MAT, and TOEFL.

What do I do if my advisement center requires me to meet with the ASC before receiving my RAN?

Just come over to the ASC between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM on Monday-Friday and we'll find  a staff member to meet with you for a 20-30 minute one-on-one conference (no appointment necessary).  Check in at the desk in the hall when you arrive.

 

Who is a non-traditional student?

Any student who has not been in school for the last 5 years (either out of high school for 5 years before attending college at all or 5 years since attending college).
