The Independent Study Program is designed for students who are participating in distance learning / degree efforts with another school. The Testing Office offers a quiet, relaxed atmosphere and a flexible schedule. The testing staff will be responsible for maintaining security of exam materials, carefully checking identification of students, and administering exams according to specific guidelines set by each institution and professor.

Independent Study exams are administered from 9:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m. Monday - Friday throughout most of the year. These exams are available for Georgia Southern University and non-Georgia Southern University students on an appointment basis only.

Students should contact the Testing Office to schedule your testing appointment. Photo identification is required for admission to take any examination.


Students must complete the registration form at Georgia Southern before confirming a test date. The test results will be forwarded to the candidate by the educational agency for which the program was administered.

Picture Identification Required for All Tests
Please make sure you bring an acceptable ID

Acceptable IDs are: a valid state driver's license, student ID or passport.
(Not accepted: check cashing cards, picture credit cards, Sam's cards, etc.)
