Pallet challenge returns to GS for a third year (George-Anne)

September 27, 2017
The Center for Sustainability is hosting its third annual Pallet Challenge. This challenge focuses on ways to create something new out of used pallets. According to the Center for Sustainability, the only requirement for this challenge is that whatever is made, must be composed of at least 75 percent used pallets.

“The Pallet Challenge will promote sustainability and innovation among individuals and/or teams in the region as they up-cycle used pallets into something new and creative,” the Center for Sustainability said on their website.

The deadline to register is on Oct. 2, and the teams must deliver the final entry by 10 a.m. on Oct. 7 on the Bulloch County Courthouse lawn. The creation will be showcased at the Center for Sustainability’s Green Fest which takes place from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m on Oct. 7. Prizes will be awarded for the winner.

The 2016 Pallet Challenge winners consist of creations such as: a fishing bench, decorative planters and garden items, gardening table, and a motorized pallet car.
