Get Ahead
Summer School 2009@ Georgia Southern University
This summer is the perfect time to get ahead – take a class during Term A, Term B or even spread out your credit hours
over the Long Term session. |
 |
Sun and Fun
Take advantage of smaller classes and a relaxed environment this summer and get ahead with core and major classes, electives or ease your course load for fall semester. You might even consider adding that second major or a minor. |
 |
Choices
With more than 900 classes offered this summer, you can plan on getting ahead with one, two or three courses, an internship, independent research or even the opportunity to study abroad. |
 |
Study Abroad
Expand your horizons by taking classes on a different continent. Core classes as well as several major courses and electives are offered through Georgia Southern during the summer months. |
 |
Need Direction
Contact your advisor about scheduling classes and receiving your RAN. First Year Experience Office will advise undeclared students and provide RANs. The courses listed are those that Georgia Southern expects to offer provided there are available faculty, appropriate facilities and sufficient demand. If a class is full, please contact your academic advisor.

 |
Less Time
All summer courses are from Georgia Southern’s regular curriculum and carry full academic credit as indicated in the course listing preview brochure. A typical 15-week semester is condensed into four weeks (though some sessions are longer), so you can expect a more intensive learning experience. Classes meet every weekday during each session.
COURSE HOUR LIMITATIONS
Students may not take more than seven (7) semester hours during Terms A, B, D (COBA/JPCOPH Graduate session) and E (COE Graduate session) or more than twelve (12) semester hours during the Long Term, or combinations of concurrent terms. No more than twelve (12) semester hours are allowed during the summer- no exceptions.
NOTE:There may be immersion experiences which merit exceptions to the above limitations – e.g., internships, study abroad programs, archeological “digs,” foreign language classes, etc. These exceptions require approval of the appropriate dean. |
