Master Certified Health Education Specialist
(MCHES)

The test is not administered at Georgia Southern University starting with the October 2018 exam.
The exam is administered through the Prometric Testing Centers.

Applications for this test are available through National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. (NCHEC).

Health Educators are specialist in educating the public about health.  They are professionals who design, conduct, and evaluate activities to help improve the health of people.  These activities can take place in a variety of settings, including schools, communities, health care facilities, businesses, academic settings, and government agencies.

* The Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES) exam will be based on the scientific approach to measure the existing health education advanced-level Sub-competencies related to the Seven Areas of Responsibilities.

* The exam consists of 165 multiple choice questions (150 scored, 15 pilot tested) some of which are scenario based.

* Master Certified Health Education Specialist, MCHES, is an individual that has met academic eligibility in health education and is practicing at the advanced-level in the field, passed a written exam administered by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc., and has an ongoing commitment to continuing education.
