As part of its outreach mission, SERMEISS provides teacher-training workshops and other programs on a variety of subjects, including the Islamic World, the Middle East, and facets of both. Workshops have been funded by SERMEISS and a grant from Aramco Services, Inc. Individual members are also available for presentations at schools, churches, and civic organizations.

Recent workshops have been held for the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction; NAFSA: Association for International Educators; The Westminster School, Atlanta, Georgia; the ninth annual British Commonwealth and Postcolonial Studies Conference; Georgia Southern University College of Education; and public school faculty in Orlando, Florida. The Orlando workshop was arranged by the Middle East Outreach Council (MEOC) in conjunction with the annual meeting of the Middle East Studies Association of North America (MESA).
