Office of the Provost

Georgia Southern University’s Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs serves as the Chief Academic Officer for the University, reporting directly to the University President. He works closely with the President and an extensive group of campus colleagues in guiding strategic planning and policy development, in promoting campus-wide academic initiatives, and in defining budgetary and development priorities.

The Provost oversees eight colleges specializing in Business Administration, Education, Health and Human Sciences, Information Technology, Liberal Arts & Social Sciences, Public Health, Science & Technology, and Graduate Studies. Also within the Provost's purview are the University Library, Continuing Education, the Center for International Studies, the Office of Institutional Effectiveness, the Performing Arts Center, the Georgia Southern Museum, the Botanical Garden, and the Center for Wildlife Education. The Provost oversees a budget of $110 million.

Georgia Southern University’s Provost is assisted by an Associate Provost, an Associate Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness, an Associate Vice President for Continuing Education, an Associate to the Provost for Assessment, an Associate to the Provost for Academic Programs and Policies, and an Assistant Vice President for International Studies. The Provost works closely with the Vice President for Research who also serves as the Dean of Graduate Studies.
