Eagle Science Camp
For Rising Seventh – Ninth Grade Students
2010 marked our thirteenth and final year for this fabulous resident science camp, which is no longer offered so funds could shift to reach more school children via our Project SENSE Museum Outreach program! However, numerous young middle schoolers were able to enjoy Eagle Science Camp for many years thanks to the generous financial support of Planters Telephone Foundation and some fabulous Camp Counselors! Click here to explore the wonderful photos and posters that illustrate the great time had by all!
This resident camp, which was by application only, allowed talented middle school students (rising 7th, 8th, and 9th graders) with excellent grades and their teacher’s recommendation the opportunity to live and study at Georgia Southern University. Laboratory explorations in biology, physics, chemistry, computers, mathematics and geology were taught by extremely personable Georgia Southern professors. Participants got to enjoy more traditional camp activities such as swimming, t-shirt painting, and movies. Two sessions, 24 students each. Click here to learn more about Eagle Science Camp. Camp dates were typically the first two weekends after Memorial Day.
