The Georgia Southern Museum offers year-round group tours for public, private, and homeschool groups of all ages and must be scheduled in advance. Each program is a hands-on, interactive exploration that makes use of resources available at the Museum and at Georgia Southern University. We correlate all our programs to the Georgia Performance Standards and provide complementary teaching materials for classroom use.

Homeschool Groups: Homeschool families are encouraged to visit the museum informally at any time. Groups of homeschool students and homeschool associations may schedule educational tours in the same way that public and private school teachers make group reservations. Programs may be modified to accommodate a broader span of age/learning levels within a homeschool group.

Group Size: We can accommodate up to 6 classes or about 120 students in a single visit by combining programs or working with other facilities at Georgia Southern.
Tour Length: The Museum’s individual programs run approximately 30 minutes.
Tour Price: To help defray costs, a nominal program/materials fee is charged for all reserved groups EXCEPT Georgia Southern University classes and Georgia Southern University Family Life Center groups. During the school year (dates vary slightly each year) the fee is $2.00 per person, and during the summer months the fee is $5.00 per person. If a group is combining Museum programs, there is only the one-time charge of either $2.00 per person or $5.00 per person, depending upon the time of year.
Schedule a Tour: Please call our Educator’s Office at (912) 478-7707 to schedule a group tour or discuss your group’s needs. Group tours must be scheduled in advance.
