RE: 11th Coastal Georgia Middle School Model United Nations
Colleagues:
It is my pleasure to invite you to participate in the 10th Annual Coastal Georgia Center Middle School Model United Nations sponsored by Georgia Southern University. The conference this year will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2009. It will consist of simulations of the United Nations General Assembly and United Nations Security Council as well as the African Union (AU), the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), and the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). With critical economic, social, and cultural issues confronting the nations of the world, it is our hope that simulating the ECOSOC will make students aware of the vast number of issues that these organizations are confronting.
As with the Middle School Model United Nations Conference held each year at Georgia Southern University, you will be provided with resolutions on a wide variety of topics. These resolutions will be sent to you soon after the Christmas holidays. It will also be possible to access our web site for information pertaining to the conference. Though our website is constantly being updated and revised, we diligently strive to keep advisors and students abreast of the array of research and other materials relating to Georgia Southern University Model United Nations programs. Check our web site at http://academics.georgiasouthern.edu/international/modelun/index.htm for updates on the Coastal Georgia and other Model United Nations conferences hosted by Georgia
Southern University.
Please submit your country requests together with the application fee as soon as possible so that we may begin assigning countries and preparing the program. If you have any questions, you may contact me at the 912-478-1398, 912-478-5929, or e-mail me at bballeck@georgiasouthern.edu. Questions about individual delegate registration fees should be directed to Ms. Judy Hendrix at the Division of Continuing Education at 912-478-5993 or by e-mail to her address at jhendrix@georgiasouthern.edu. We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you in Savannah next year.
