Airport Pickup at Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport
in Savannah , GA

Reservation required!

A Georgia Southern employee will meet you at the Information Desk on the lower level near the baggage claims. To make your reservation, please give your name and flight information by sending an email to elp@georgiasouthern.edu , calling 912-478-1379, or sending a fax to 912-478-0824.

Residence Hall Check-In (for students living on-campus)
The Center for International Studies will take you to your residence hall.

Welcome Breakfast and Orientation-Part I

9:00 A.M.-12:00 p.m.
Location - Russell Union - Room 2084

Bring your Certificate of Immunization, your passport with visa, I-20 form, and your I-94 (small white card) with you, so we can make copies. Legal residents of the U.S. should bring their Resident Alien Card or Certificate of Naturalization.

12:00 - 1:00 p.m. - Lunch
Location - Russell Union - Room 2084

1:00 –4:00 p.m.
English Language Program Placement Test*
There are 3 parts to the test: a written essay, a section on vocabulary, grammar and reading, and an oral interview.

Campus Tour and Health Services

9:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M.
Location - Russell Union - Room 2084
All students must report to determine classes and then tour the campus. On the tour we will go to: (1) Deal Hall to pay fees, (2) ID Center (Russell Union) to get your student ID card, (3) Landrum Center to open your Post Office Box, and (4) the Health Center . You will be tested for tuberculosis and your immunication record will be checked.

1:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M.- Shopping & Banking Trip
Meet at Russell Union - Room 2084
Buy necessary items you didn't bring with you and/or open a bank account (if you need one). To open a bank account, you will need: (1) the money you want to put in the account (for example, traveler's checks , a check in U.S. currency, etc .) and (2) your passport.

Campus offices are usually open Monday-Friday (8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.)

The cafeteria is located in the Landrum Center .

There are several other restaurants in Russell Union and Lakeside Café.

* Late Fee- If you do not take the Placement Test and/or register at the scheduled times, you must pay an additional $50.
