I graduated with my undergraduate degree from Smith College in Biology and Psychology (1990), and with a Ph.D. in Biology from Tufts University in 1997. Currently, I am an Associate Professor and Chair of the Biology Department at the University of Tampa with teaching focused on introductory biology, marine ecology and biostatistics. My research investigates the ecological variables correlated with syngnathid fish distribution (seahorses and pipefish) in shallow seagrass habitats. In addition, I conduct experimental research in the laboratory and the field on the behavioral, ecological and evolutionary implications of sex differences in reproduction and parental investment in animals.
