I obtained my degree in Chemistry from the University of Tourin (Italy) and am now an associate professor of chemistry at the Università Politecnica delle Marche, Ancona, Italy. I have about 150 research publications in science education, study of charge-transfer complexes, and the chemistry of free radicals. Author of two books. I have spent three periods of study leave at the Chemical Centre of the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, doing radical chemistry research, and also being at the Centre for Science Education at the University of Glasgow. I teach General Chemistry in an engineering university. My research interests are in science education, problem solving, and methods for improving learning such as concept maps, active and cooperative learning.
