Statesboro is located in the southeastern region of the United States in southeast Georgia about 50 minutes from Savannah, Georgia; about 3½ hours from Atlanta, Georgia; and about 2½ hours from Jacksonville International Airport, Florida.

Airports

Getting to Statesboro

Statesboro is about 50 minutes from the Savannah International Airport. Traffic is generally light between the airport and Statesboro. For the greatest comfort and control over your travel plans, you may rent a car at the Savannah airport.

Best Route from Savannah Airport

If you are driving from the airport to Statesboro, your best approach is outlined below.

  • From the airport, locate Interstate-95; go south toward Savannah/Brunswick. You'll travel just a few miles.
  • Look for Interstate-16, go west toward Macon. You'll travel for about 30 minutes on I-16.
  • Look for Exit 127 for Statesboro. Turn right on highway 67. (Highway 67 turns into Fair Road as you approach Statesboro.) Follow highway 67 into Statesboro.
  • IF YOU MISS Exit 127, the next exit for Statesboro is Exit 116, also known as highway 301. Turn right on highway 301 and follow it into Statesboro.

Car Rentals at Airport

The following car rental agencies are available at the Savannah airport: Alamo, Avis, Budget, Hertz, Dollar, Enterprise, National Car Rental, Thrifty Car Rental .

Taxi from Airport

Taxis are available from the Savannah airport to Statesboro. Taxi fees could run as high as US $100 from the airport to Statesboro for a one-way trip. If you choose to take a taxi, they are located outside the main entrance of the terminal. You may view airport taxi information on this page.

Shuttle Service

The SoTL Commons will provide shuttle service from the airport to Statesboro. There will also be a shuttle service from the hotels to the Nessmith-Lane Conference Center. The shuttle van cannot legally carry more than 10 passengers at a time. The shuttles are scheduled to run from 8:00 AM until 8:00 PM October 31 through November 2. Services are not available before or after these dates. There should be a shuttle at the Savannah airport approximately every two hours, but this is not guaranteed. Please be aware that if you opt to take a shuttle from the airport to Statesboro, you might have to wait longer than two hours for a ride depending on the number of people waiting to use the shuttle. For the greatest comfort and control over your travel plans, you may rent a car at the Savannah airport. Important! How to Locate the Shuttle at the Airport

SoTL Commons Van DriverFind the Visitor's Center in the airport (1st or bottom floor) near the escalators. Look for someone holding a sign with the SoTL Commons logo. If you do not see a person with the sign near the Visitor's Center, wait near the Visitor's Center or check back at the Center every 15 minutes or so. Conference Center Location

The best approach to the Conference Center is from highway 67 (also known as Fair Road). Locate Chandler Road from highway 67, and follow it until you see the street named Plant Drive. Take a right on Plant Drive, and take the first entrance on the right into the conference center parking lot.
