This session is designed to inform participants on how to use Blackboard to gather data from their students to enhance teaching and learning. Our goals are to demonstrate how we used adult development and learner-centered literature to analyze classroom data for the purpose of creating rich teaching and learning experiences. The role of reflection on the part of faculty and students provided a plethora of data from which to create an understanding of graduate students learning around educational theory. We were then able to articulate the richness of a reflective community of practice and to elaborate the transparent connections that the teaching team made with graduate students which ultimately informed our scholarship. Student and faculty roles are re-examined in light of emerging understandings, but also on how we viewed ourselves as vulnerable learners within the contexts of others. Also the bridge between data collection and publishing will be discussed.
