Electronic Assessment: Impact on Teaching and Learning [pr-2]

This session will look at the process of moving from a summative-focused portfolio to a formative and summative electronic assessment system in one institution's teacher education programs. The new process has increased rigor for students and will allow students to track their own progress toward mastery of standards, thus more closely aligning the learning process with the assessment outcomes. This presentation will provide an overview of the theoretical support for the new model, the implementation process including change management, and the challenges that have been faced by students and faculty. Discussion will focus on how programs in all areas of higher education could implement a similar process of student and program evaluation.
