Whelchel Camellia Garden

 camellia_blossom-jdixon.resizeThe Chinese have been cultivating camellias for over 1,000 years, and since these beautiful plants arrived in the west during the 18th century, they have been a southern favorite.  The leaves of Camellia sinensis are valued for tea, but the flowers of Camellia japonica are prized for their beauty and are celebrated at the Garden in the Welchel Collection.  The Cameillia japonica collection includes:
