Sample Course Syllabi
The syllabus is the contract and the first reading assignment in each of your classes. Faculty have different teaching philosophies, grading policies and ways of treating late assignments that are usually clearly spelled out in the syllabus. Why would you ever fly blind? Know the ground rules in the class from the beginning and meet the expectations of your professors. This is an important life lesson as well: the world of work often requires people to meet the often very different needs of different constituencies. Learning to navigate the different expectations of your professors is great training for this reality.
