Selecting a major can seem overwhelming, but the advisement staff in the First-Year
Experience office is here to make that experience rewarding! As an undeclared
student, your job is to actively explore major and degree options. While meeting
with your advisor, be prepared to answer questions about your interests, career
and professional goals, preferred types of classes and any other issues that
might affect your academic progress at Georgia Southern. When you share this
information, your advisor can either help you personally, or direct you to further
resources available for major exploration including the Career Services Center,
college advisement centers, faculty and other resources. Don't put off exploring
major options. Let the FYE office help you make the transition to declared status
during your first year!
