
In an effort to provide you with the most current troubleshooting and support information, we've constructed this page to let you know what we know. The issues we're focused on getting fixed, and those we are monitoring with every new service pack release. If you discover a perceived issue, please contact Support (Faculty / Students) and we'll take a look.

| Anonymous Discussions | The "anonymous to students" option in Discussions is actually anonymous to all. (No grading allowed with anonymous). This is a mis-wording to be fixed in a future release. | Platform independent - system issue. |
| Grade Book disappears | The Grade Book appears to have disappeared or will not load. Fix: Clear Temporary Files in Internet Explorer [Tutorial] or Firefox [Tutorial]. | Internet Explorer on Windows. |
| Paging setting | The "paging" setting in My Tool Options does not properly set the Grade Book item paging total. Workaround: Use the paging settings from within the Grade Book itself. | Platform independent - system issue. |

| NEW! Java version errors | The latest two version of the Java Runtime Environment (JRE), 1.6.0_19/20 ("Java 6 update 19/20") causes additional security errors and can cause certain functions of GaVIEW to function improperly. See the OSC article on this issue. | Inconclusive (PCs only) |
| "My Computer" icon | The My Computer icon for uploading files sometimes does not load. Fix: Install latest Java (from java.com) and remove all older versions. | Inconclusive |
| HTML Creator | The HTML Creator sometimes does not load. Related to "My Computer" problem, and solution is the same. | Inconclusive (more prevalent on Macs) |
| Error when accessing MS Office docs | Issue is sporadic and only affects IE 7 when Office 2007 is installed on machine. Solution is to save files first, then open them. Additionally, you can download and install the Firefox browser, which is not affected. | Windows with Office 2007, IE 7 |
| "Login Loop" or "Unable to locate the page you requested" | User is given an error page or directed to an insitutional listing page. Can occur in old Java version. See OSC article on "login loop". - Install latest Java (from java.com) and remove all older versions. |

| Viewing documents | MS Office documents appear not to open (Information Bar pops up at top of window). Fix: Visit the IE Configuration page to fix permanently. | All Internet Explorer versions. |
| Attaching files (.lnk issue) | User uploads an .lnk file as an attachment. Solution is to not use the "Recent Documents" folder when selecting files for upload. Always ensure the file attachment contains the appropriate extension, i.e. .doc(x), .xls(x), .ppt(x), .pdf, etc. | All platforms |
| Printing documents | HTML documents converted from MS Word 2007 will not print in Internet Explorer. Solution: Remove the first line of HTML code: <html ... > that is in the file. |
