Podcasting Tutorial - WebCT Vista and Podcasting
Because podcasting files are download and played on the user's computer, then it is quite easy to link to a podcasting channel or episode within WebCT Vista.
You will of course first need to have recorded and published your podcast to the Georgia Southern Podcasting Server. If you have not already done so, then please view the Podcasting Server Tutorial.
Once you have loaded some episodes, the easiest way to publish the link to your podcast is to simply look on the main channel page. You will see a link to "Click here to get subscription button code for the GeorgiaVIEW Vista". This will give you the code that you can copy/paste onto a WebCT Vista page. To do this, you must edit the header or footer of a particular page, then paste the code into the text box. Make sure you check the "Use HTML" box. Note: This will only work for iTunes users.
Additionally, you can use the "Manual Subscription" field and simply create a link using the URL Tool in your course. Student using iTunes or another media player can the use this URL to subscribe to the podcast.
