Center for Academic Technology Support

Welcome to the Center for Academic Technology Support at Georgia Southern University! We provide comprehensive services to the campus in all facets of emerging and instructional technology. It is our goal to improve the teaching and learning process by recommending, testing, implementing and supporting technology for use in the classroom.

2009 Virtual Rock Eagle Conference

The 2009 Rock Eagle Conference will be held virtually this year, on Thursday, November 12th. Sessions will be simulcast in the CIT Professional Development Center - Rooms 3301, 3302 and 3314. Click here for a full schedule of events and list of session.

Services

In order to facilitate the distribution of information within the Georgia Southern community, we provide numerous services such as equipment checkout, document scanning, DVD/VHS conversion, and video streaming. We also offer training on many technologies that are commonly used on the Georgia Southern campus, such as podcasting, Crystal Reports, and CPS.

Classroom Technology

The Center for Academic Technology Support oversees more than 200 Smart Classrooms on campus. We are also the primary campus location for information and training related to CPS.

Distance Learning

Distance learning programs allow Georgia Southern to provide classrooms to students in remote locations. We offer two primary methods of distance learning: videoconferencing and on-line learning through GeorgiaVIEW.

Emerging Technology

Investigating, testing and recommending new and emerging instructional technology is important to our mission. Click here to see some of our current projects.
