Arriving at Georgia Southern University Spring 2018 (January 8 – April 27, 2018)
Transportation – Statesboro is located in southern Georgia about 52 miles (82km) west of Savannah. The closest airport to Statesboro is the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport. Please note: no buses or passenger trains come to Statesboro. Taxi fare from Savannah to Statesboro will cost approximately $120 and can be arranged at the airport across from the baggage claim area.
FREE shuttle service – The English Language Program provides limited FREE shuttle service from the Savannah Airport to campus. Someone will meet you in front of the Visitor Information Center, which is located at the bottom of the escalator that leads to the baggage claim area.
While the service is free, you must make reservations before January 5, 2017 by sending an email to email@example.com with your name and flight itinerary.
On-campus Housing – If you have applied for on-campus housing, you will be able to check-in on January 7, 2017. If you arrive earlier than January 7, you will need to stay in a local hotel or make other arrangements. Tip: make a reservation before you leave your country!
Housing (On and Off Campus)
If you do not have a place to live before arriving to Statesboro, plan on staying at a hotel and make a reservation before you leave your country.
Savannah Airport Hotels – If you arrive late or early, you may prefer to or need to stay over in Savannah. There are many hotels to choose from that are close to the airport that offer free shuttle service from the airport.
