Known Issues
Windows Vista:
- When using the latest release (1.6.x) of Java, the HTML Creator has several issues on the Firefox browser. Recommendation: Use Internet Explorer when using Windows Vista, or when you need to use the HTML Creator.
Windows (all versions):
- The "login loop" - This is commonly what is referred to when you attempt an action like reading a discussion message and you are kicked to a page that lists a bunch of institutions. Recommendation: Try logging off completely off, close the browser, and start over. If this still does not work, contact Vista Support - specifically, the Online Support Center has several articles relating to this very issue.
- When composing a discussion, mail or quiz response I hit Submit and I get an error. Recommendation: If you take too long to type a response, WebCT Vista will timeout - it is a security feature for inactivity. When you expect you might have a long response, type it in Word or Notepad, then copy/paste the text. If it times out, you won't lose the text.
- Error or warning messages about certificates and trusts - This usually only occurs on a brand new machine during the very first use of WebCT Vista. Recommendation: You need to accept (always trust) all warnings that come up. This is a safe practice because the My.GeorgiaSouthern login process assures you that you are on a site you can trust.
- When I click a button, nothing happens. I get "Error on page". Recommendation: You are using a computer with no Java, or an incorrect version. Simply use the Check Browser link in the upper right corner of WebCT Vista and follow the steps.
