This collection of short tips will streamline your use and knowledge of Vista.
- Did you know that their are several useful links under the Campus Bookmarks section of the Courses page?
- All pages within Vista, including specific pages like creating an assessment question, have a Help link in the top right corner that will load page-specific help.
- Clicking on the date in the calendar will reveal additional details about the event.
- When trying to print a long page of information, make sure you right-click inside the area where the information appears and Print from that menu instead of clicking the Print menu at the top of the page.
- When trying to print Word, Excel, Powerpoint, or other documents, make sure you click Save (not Open) when prompted, then save it to your computer and open/print it in its native format.
- Attachments are stored in a special area of Vista that persists across semesters - to manipulate these files, click the File Manager (cabinet) icon in the toolbar area of the Courss page.
- Calendar entries for all sections show up on the same calendar.
- Answers you have saved on an assessment are recorded even if you exit the quiz or shut off your computer.
- You are automatically logged out of Vista after a certain period of inactivity, so take care when typing long discussion or quiz answers...make sure you type them in Word and copy/paste.
