Below is a summary of what you can expect and where to get started, whether you're brand new or a seasoned veteran. All items in the checklist are suggested, but optional depending on your preference.
How do I login to Vista? You login by simply going to My.GeorgiaSouthern and logging in with your email username and password. Your courses and students are automatically created, so you simply need to login to begin!
- Join WebCT-Fal. As you begin your journey into online learning, communication is the key. We'd like you to join our WebCT Vista listserv - webctfal. This is a read-only listserv that we use to communicate with faculty. It is low traffic, but high importance.
- Get training. Training comes in two forms - functional (how to do it) and pedagogy (why to do it). Here we offer both - Functional Training and Online Course Design. If you prefer to learn on your own, view our Tutorials.
- Be aware of certain logistical best practices. View our pre-semester and post-semester checklists to understand what it is you should be doing to prepare and close out the semester.
- Did you know that we already have a pre-built Vista section that you can use? This Online Course Design template uses effective course building strategies to provide you with a blank framework for your course. You just adopt it and change the information for your content and you're up and running in no time.
- When planning your course dates, please be aware of the Vista Downtimes Calendar so that you don't assign work that is due during a downtime.
- Get Support and Help - both for you and your students.
- Our site has a nice and easy to read Site Map. If you can't find what you're looking for, chances are the site map can help you.
