Explanation and Components of the Template
Based on research and expert advice, we've developed a course template that you can use that effectively demonstrates the principles of good design for an online course. This template serves as a model course that you then can modify, edit, and custom for your own course. You'll add your own supporting content files, create your own assignments, even add your own quizzes. The template will take care of the navigation and give you guidelines of what content you might consider adding. For more information on our design strategy, please view our Online Course Design page.

Using the template - In a blank course
No course development has occurred. Fill out the Template Request Form that will alert us to your intent. We'll assign the content to your section so you can begin customizing it. (NOTE: This will remove all previous content)
Using the template - Importing individual components
If you have already loaded content or would simply like to import a particular facet of the template, we've provided some modules you can easily add to your course as is.
Importing into your course
1. In "Build" mode, click the Manage Course link under "Designer Tools". Click Import.
2. From the File Browser window, click Repository. Click Georgia Southern University to expose the files.
3. Select the appropriate file(s) - see chart below for file descriptions - by clicking on the button beside them..
4. Click Add Selected and the import process will begin. It may take several seconds to complete.
5.
Once finished, click Return.
6.
The module(s) will now be available in Build mode from the Learning Modules link. It is recommended that if you add the "Start Here" or "Student Orientation to GaVIEW" module, you add it to the hompage, and if you add the Week 1-15 modules, that you create an Organizer Page to house them.
