The Center for Online Learning assists faculty with the development and delivery of online course content. Faculty receive technological and pedagogical training, consultation, and ongoing support.

The Teaching Online Track prepares faculty to teach & develop online courses.

Quality Matters Track

The Quality Matters Track prepares faculty to review online courses

Teaching Online Certificate

Prerequisite: None

Participants take a six-week online class on online course design and delivery. This is not a technical course.

Certificate: Participants who complete all work in the course at a satisfactory level receive a Teaching Online Certificate from the COL.

  • Timeline: 6 weeks (offered once per semester)

Introduction to Quality Matters

Prerequisite: None

Evaluate the design of your online course against the Quality Matters Rubric based on nationally recognized standards for course design.

Certificate: Participants who complete the workshop receive a certificate of completion from the COL.

  • Timeline: 6 – 8 hours

Course Development Program

Prerequisite: Teaching Online Certificate

Create or redesign your online course in collaboration with our experienced instructional design staff. Courses developed through the COL use the Folio Foundations Course Template.

  • Stipend: Up to $2000
  • Timeline: 1 semester
  • Registration Deadline: August 17

QM Course Review Program

Prerequisite: None.

Participate in a peer review of an online course in your department using the Quality Matters course review process. The QM Course Review Program requires the participation of five department faculty.
